The Clash’s Seminal Album ‘London Calling’ Turns 40!

 

40 years ago today, December 14th 1979, the Clash’s seminal album, ‘London Calling’, was released in the UK. Hitting the Top 10 on the UK album charts, the album has gone on to sell over five million copies worldwide and has been revered as one of the most important albums of all time by the likes of Rolling Stone magazine.

 

January 10th 2020 will see the album turn 40 in the USA after its staggered release on Epic Records Stateside.

 

Featuring such classics as ‘Spanish Bombs’, ‘Train in Vain’, ‘Death Or Glory’, ‘Rudie Can’t Fail’, and the album’s title track, ‘London Calling’ recently received a 40th Anniversary reissue on vinyl, CD, cassette and as a deluxe limited edition ‘Scrap Book’ box set.
